STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE TO IMPRESS PEOPLE (Wednesday, 17th December 2025)
Text for Today: 1 Thess. 2:1-12 “… even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts”. (vs. 4b).
There is nothing more frustrating than for a man to be practically living his life to please others, and still they have no regard for him. Living your life according to biblical standard and in line with the pursuit of your dream is one of the best ways of experiencing true peace and finding fulfillment in life. When a man abandons his dream and simply lives his life to fulfill other people’s dream, and make them happy, it is a dis-service to himself. If you decide to please men, you will be taken out of your own vision and track in life. It will shock you to know that the people you are living your life to impress are not even paying attention to you at all. Why would you now kill yourself over someone who is not looking in your direction in the first place?
As a mature single brother or sister, preparing for your wedding, never go beyond what you have capacity for and don’t make any attempt to match up with the kind of wedding someone else did some months earlier. Many went into heavy debt in order to impress people during their wedding or other occasions, only to find themselves in serious financial crisis when they were left alone after the wedding. Beloved, whatever wrong choices you make in life, a time will come when you will be left alone to face the consequences of your actions. Even if there were those who pushed you into making such wrong decisions, they won’t be there to carry the burden along with you. Simply live your dream and please God!
