THE LEVEL OF YOUR IGNORANCE DETERMINES THE HEIGHT OF YOUR BONDAGE (Monday, 15th December 2025)
Text for Today: Acts 8:26-40 “And he said, How can I, unless someone guide me? And he asked Philip to come and sit with him.” (vs. 31).
An ignorant man is a time bomb that will soon explode if he does nothing to acquire the right knowledge. Knowledge is a kind of power no other thing can ever stand as a substitute to in life. The Bible says in Prov. 24:5 that, “A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.” You must do everything within your power to keep increasing in knowledge, both spiritually and secularly in your chosen career. From our text for today, the Ethiopian Eunuch was reading about Jesus Christ, according to Isaiah the prophet, but didn’t understand a bit of what he was reading, until Philip came around to explain it to him in clear terms.
The encounter this man had with knowledge turned everything around for him, because he got saved and was baptized immediately. As long as he knew not what he was reading, he gained nothing from it. A man will forever remain who he used to be until he goes after knowledge that will turn things around for him. Even if you have to talk to someone who is younger than you in age to increase in knowledge, please go ahead and do that. Do you know that, Philip was far lower in status physically compared to the Ethiopian Eunuch he preached to that day. Philip was even walking on the road while that man was going in his chariots, yet he needed something that Philip already had. Some people are too proud to learn; thus, their predicament gets worse day by day. The Bible says, “In the multitude of counsel there is safety.” The level of your ignorance determines the height of your bondage, so go for knowledge.
