THE PROMISE KEEPER

Word Encounter and Power Service (Wednesday, 11th March 2026)

Text: Deuteronomy 7:9

Ministering: Pastor Wole Dahunsi

* A promise is as viable and dependable as the person who makes it. If the person who makes a promise is unstable in nature, the promise can never be reliable.

* However, God Almighty is reliable, dependable, and trustworthy in nature.

Two types of promises

1. Unconditional Promises

=> There are some promises that God has made to us without conditions.

=> For example, the one He made to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3.

=> These promises came out of God’s love towards Abraham.

2. Conditional Promises

=> Promises made based on responsibilities that were carried out, based on some good virtues and habits.

=> Romans 10:9; John 3:16.

* We enjoy both types of promises.

Why some people fail to enjoy the promises of God in their lives

1. Lack of understanding of the will of God.

=> Whoever lacks the understanding of God’s will will not experience the fulfillment of His promises.

=> You only know the will of God for your life through the study of His word.

2. Unconfessed and unrepentant sins.

=> Proverbs 28:13.

3. Inability to put God’s word into practice.

=> It is the word of God that you put into practice that will bless and prosper you.

=> 1 Timothy 4:15; Joshua 1:8.

Reasons we need to keep looking up to God as the Promise Keeper

1. God is truthful.

=> 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Titus 1:1-2.

2. God is faithful.

=> Hebrews 10:23.

=> God can be trusted to keep His promises.

=> Isaiah 25:1; Lamentations 3:22-23.

3. God never changes.

=> Malachi 3:6.

4. God is able.

=> The ability of God can be viewed from 3 points:

a) Omniscient
b) Omnipresent
c) Omnipotent

Things to note

1. It is a joyful thing for man to work and enjoy his harvest. To enjoy the harvest, you need power.

2. Our God is the promise maker and the promise keeper.

3. A promise is only as reliable as the one who makes it.

4. The fact that a promise of God is not fulfilled in your life does not mean that it is invalid.

5. Holding on to the promises of God does not mean they will come easily.

6. Stop relating to God through your experience with men. God is not a man.

7. The fact that men have let you down before doesn’t mean God will. God has no record of failure, and He won’t start with you.

Prayers

1. My Father, my Father, any force, any power, any satanic agent that may rise to stop my harvest, to waste my labour, to hinder my result, tonight, I judge you by fire. Ecclesiastes 6:1-2.

2. Father, because You are faithful, as I look up to You for fruitfulness, preservation, victory, etc., it will surely happen.

Remain blessed

You are a Champion!
