Hindrances to Supernatural Power (Cont’d)

5. Wrong Company

=> Samson as a case study. Judges 16: 1;4-5;19-20.

=> After Samson went down to the Valley of Sorek and met Delilah, he lost the power of God at work in her s life.

=> When someone is misled, they always go to the wrong places and receive the wrong counsel.

6. Wrong Motives/Fleshy Desire for Power

=> Genesis 11 (Tower of Babel) – God will stop whatever desire you have that will glorify self instead of God.

=> Simon (a sorcerer) as a case study: Acts 8:9-10;17-22.

=> If Simon the sorcerer had succeeded in getting the power he requested, he would have commercialized it for personal gains, but Peter rebuked him.

7. Unwillingness to pay the price.

=> The price is not cash; it is a responsibility.

=> The price is a lifestyle of prayer; a lifestyle of study; and a lifestyle of holiness.

Things to note

1. No matter what hindrance you encounter, by the power of God, you will overcome it.

2. No one is immune to the trials and challenges of life. But there is an eternal truth; by the help and supernatural power of God, we will be able to triumph over them.

3. Your journey may be slowed down, but for as long as you live, it can’t be aborted. Being slowed down doesn’t mean you won’t achieve your aim. 1 Thessalonians 2:18; 1 Corinthians 10:13.

4. As children of God, we must be sensitive to things that happen around us.

5. Everything we enjoy right now is a gift from God.

6. Every blessing God gives you should draw you closer to Him, and not take you away from His presence.

7. Whoever lacks self-discipline can never make it in life.

8. Everything you are doing in your relationship with God is to your advantage.

9. Regardless of whatever any man has, if he doesn’t have Jesus, you are richer and better than him.

Prayers

1. I decree and declare, any power that is not of God that wants to Lord itself over my life, tonight, bow down and give way.

2. By the supernatural power of God, as I move ahead in the journey of this year, I will not fall and fail in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, for as long as I live, help me to keep paying the price for supernatural power.
