THEY ALL BECAME VICTIMS OF JONAH’S ERROR (Sunday, 15th February 2026)
Text for Today: Jonah 1:1-16 “Then they said to him, “Please tell us! For whose cause is this trouble upon us?” (vs. 8).
Let me start today by praying for you that, may you not go on a journey with someone who is destined to fail or die in Jesus name. There are those who suffer for what they know nothing about, and even pay for it with their lives. It’s a disaster for someone else to commit an error and you become the one who bears the burden of the consequences and troubles. I pray for you today that, may you not become the victim of another man’s mistakes this year in the name of Jesus. Who you travel with in life will largely determine what accompanies your life.
From our text for today, some innocent traders set out on a journey to re-stock and on their way back with the goods they bought with their hard-earned resources, an accursed man named Jonah journeyed with them in the same ship. Everyone in the ship became victims of the curse upon Jonah without knowing anything about it. They lost all their goods, and almost perished in the sea before they knew he was the cause of their crisis and threw him into the sea. Scripture can never be broken, the Bible says, “he that walks with the wise shall become wise, but the company of fools shall be destroyed.” Whoever does anything against the wish of God is likened to a fool, who transfers the curse he carries upon whoever relates with him closely. Beloved, before you go far in the journey of year 2026, you need to sit down and find out if there is any Jonah in the same ship with you. Above all be more prayerful to God so as not to watch your years of labour waste away because of one Jonah.
You are a Champion!
Further Study: 1 Sam. 31:1-13.
