TIME, SPACE, GENERATION AND PEOPLE CAN’T LIMIT THE VALIDITY OF THE WORD (Thursday, 5th March 2026)

Text for Today: Heb. 4:11-16 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit….” (vs. 12).

The word of God will always count in the lives of those who honour God. The very essence of this lesson is to ascertain the availability of the efficacy of God’s word. While efficacy is the ability to produce a desired effect, God’s word on the other hand is seen as a message from God or the manifestation of His will, embedded in the Bible. Thus, the efficacy of God’s word is the degree, ability, potency in the word of God to perform its true essence. Four statements are distinct in our text for today: (i) The word of God is life (John 6:33). (ii) The word of God is effectual (1 Thess. 2:13). (iii) The word of God is piercing (Psalm 139:1-3). (iv) The word of God brings conviction to sin (Rom. 6:17).

Whatever the earth may turn to, God’s word shall remain valid till eternity. Time, space, generation and people have nothing whatsoever to do with the validity of God’s word. The word of God is ever potent. In the Bible, God said He has exalted his word above his Name. What this implies is that God is no longer God if His Word fails. Also, scriptures make us to understand that heaven and earth shall pass away but not a jot of God’s word will pass without being fulfilled. If the above assertions are not facts but truth, then why is the word of God not finding expressions in some people’s lives. Beloved, there is nothing wrong with the word of God, we are the ones that should check and examine ourselves. The word of God cannot count in the lives of whoever is living a wayward life and has no regard for divine instruction. Be wise!
