Never Underestimate The Power Of A Planted Seed

Text for Today: 2 Kings 4:16-17 “Then he said, About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” (vs. 16).

To plant a seed is to believe in tomorrow, and to ignore a call for a seed is to mortgage the future. Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit you and others.

Beloved, I want you to know that, “Whatever seed you release from your hand into God’s kingdom never leaves your life.” This is because our seeds are powerful and they produce great results.

Also our actions and reaction in the kingdom are therefore seeds that will produce harvest whether we like it or not. The difference between seasons is a seed! It takes a seed to transform a season of lack into a season of harvest.

Every seed therefore contains the power to produce change. From our text for today, the Shunammite woman thought it wise to provide accommodation and feeding to the prophet.

As far as she was concerned, she was just being nice and pious. Unknown to her however, her acts of kindness to the servant of God were seeds that would produce a harvest someday. On that fateful day, a blank cheque was presented to the woman for the prophet asked; “What can I do for you?”

WOW! One season she was barren, but the following season, she had conceived and brought forth a son as the prophet said. We can safely conclude that her seasons changed consequent upon the power of her seed.

What seed have you identified that would materially change your season? Begin and or continue to sow seeds of kindness and love into God’s kingdom.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 1 Kings 17:8-16.

Covenant Prayers

  • I receive the grace to always release what I have in my hand.
  • I command the yoke of barrenness and stagnation to break today.
  • Rain of harvest; bombard my life, in Jesus’ name.
  • My portion, hear the Word of the Lord, be released by fire.
