WHEN IT IS IN YOUR HEART TO SERVE GOD, IT WILL BE IN GOD’S HEART TO LIFT YOU (Sunday, 18th January 2026)
Text for Today: Rom. 12:1-13 “Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.” (vs. 11)
When you believe in a dream or a vision, there will be nothing you won’t be able to do for it. The price and sacrifice paid by our Lord Jesus and the apostles that took over after His ascension was the reason why we have the gospel with us now. If not for the virtue of selfless service displayed by our Lord Jesus Christ, there wouldn’t have been anything called salvation. All that we have in the Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are all records of service rendered by one man. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour is a symbol and epitome of service. God gave Jesus total attention because He was committed to service. Whoever ignores service in God’s vineyard has simply wasted the sacrifice paid on his behalf by Jesus through service.
Your greatest ability in life as a child of God is your availability and resources you release. When it is in your heart to serve God, it will be in God’s heart to lift you. Look across to all departments or units as it is applicable in your local church and trust God to establish you in one or two of them and serve God. I want you to know that nothing recommends a person before God for lifting than service. Beloved, you can sing in the choir, work in the ushering department, sanctuary, technical, children unit or any other unit. This New Year that we have just started, I charge you to step out of the congregation and become a worker in God’s vineyard. If you ignore the call to service, you have simply ignored power for greatness. Get busy!
