YOU CAN STAND OUT IN YOUR FATHER’S HOUSE (Saturday, 21st February 2026)
Test for today- Genesis 11:27-32 “So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran”. (vs. 32).
I often say to them in our church that, until you attain a feat your father or mother couldn’t attain in life, you are not yet a success. Right from my youthful days, I have been hearing fathers and mothers praying that, their children should be greater than them. And the scripture also says in Prov. 4:18 that, “The path of the just is like a shining light that keeps shining and shining until the perfect day.” That tells you that life must progress even from generation to generation, spiritually and physically. Records are meant to be broken not only to be kept. However, you need to know that, there are forces and powers in every lineage that want to limit the glory of every family member.
If you are not strong enough, what stopped your father may stop you as well. It does not matter the kind of family you came out from. It does not matter the kind of up- bringing you had. It does not matter the kind of lifestyles of your parent. It does not matter if a particular evil pattern has been in existence in your family for ages, I stand to declare to you that your story can be different and better than that of your forefathers and parents. From our text for today, Abraham made up his mind not to die a nobody like his father did. Who could have imagined that Abraham was an offspring of Terah who made no impact in life? Though David’s father, Jesse was never a king, David became one, Joseph’s father was never a Prime Minister, but he became one. I charge you to rise and break new grounds in life.
You are a Champion!
