Worrying Never Makes Tomorrow Better

Text for Today: Matt. 6:25-34 “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (vs. 34).

Worrying is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but it never gets you anywhere. You can destroy your now by worrying about tomorrow that has not yet come.

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its problems, rather it empties today of its strength. No amount of regretting can change the past, and no amount of worrying can change the future.

Never let the future disturb you, you will surely meet it, however you must focus on your assignment today. A great counsel was given by Jesus in one of His teachings from our text for today, and you will be wise to take to it and have peace of mind.

The greatest fear of man is not death as most people think; it is the fear of tomorrow. And that is why our anxiety increases when things are not falling into place as expected. Parents struggle over their children because of tomorrow so that they will not turn out to be vagabonds in the society.

Despite the fact that some of us have more than enough to care for our needs for today, we still want to acquire more and more to secure the future. Yes, tomorrow is very crucial, but how do we take care of this tomorrow, so as not to die before our time.

The best way to handle it, “Live your life today in the will of God and submit your tomorrow into His hands.” We may not know what the future holds, but when we know He who holds the future; then we are safe.

Living in the will of God today entails you becoming and doing the best you can now.
