YOUR ASSOCIATION COULD EITHER MAKE OR MAR YOUR DESTINY (Wednesday, 14th January 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Sam. 13:1-12 “So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill”. (vs. 5).
Those who are not conscious of the kind of association they keep in life will always live in regrets most times. If you will be sincere with yourself, you will discover that, the reason why you are where you are today is largely a function of the kind of people you associated with yesterday. You can’t separate the level of your success in life from the kind of association that you keep. Many promising destinies have been sent into early graves while some have been depleted to the point of no recovery, just because they associated with the wrong people. Beloved, if you take a close look into your affairs last year, I’m sure you will see some relationship you got into that almost brought you down or some that landed you in trouble. It will be a great foolish act to keep the same relationship this New Year.
Friendship is meant to add value to you and not to destroy what you have labored to build all these years. Some are languishing as we speak in various prisons across the globe, just because of wrong association. I remember a young man I used to know while I was growing up who I meet at Agodi Prison in Oyo state few years back when I went for a preaching engagement over there. This young man landed in prison basically because of the kind of friends he was keeping, and he didn’t know the kind of evil activities they engaged in. Also, from our text for today, Amnon, son of David ended his life abruptly as a result of a bad friend he had in Jonadab. Stay away from men like Jonadab in 2026.
You are a Champion!
Covenant Prayers

- Father, I thank you for the good people I have in my life.
- Lord, separate me from whoever has nothing good to add to me.
- Lord, I receive grace to be mindful of the association I keep.
- I refuse to be brought down in life by wrong counsel.
