Text for Today: Jn. 8:37-47 “Because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (vs. 44)

Every good thing and virtue in the life of a covenant child is a target for the devil and his agents. Thus, we must watch and pray so as not to lose our possessions and inheritance. We must realize the real war with Satan isn’t over sickness, poverty, tribulation, abortion, homosexuality, murder, drugs, gang violence, corrupted morals, etc.  These are all symptoms and spoils of the war over truth.  Satan’s battle is with truth, because he knows he cannot stand in the midst of truth. Satan questioned the truth, in the Garden of Eden, he asked the woman, “Has God indeed said, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

The devil succeeded in making her to doubt what God told them initially in clear terms, and the husband also fell for it as well. He’s still doing it today. He distorts the truth – Jesus in the wilderness – “Turn bread into stones.” Since the whole world lies in the lap of the evil one, his lies have inundated our society and culture, which has had its effect upon our lives and our children’s lives.  Educators at times are teaching his lies as truths. With the absence of truth, power is the determining factor.  Each person does what is right in their own eyes. As a result, our children are growing up in a society of cultural relativism. Each individual must decide what is right and wrong. The devil is all out to sell lies to you like he did to Adam and Eve, you must reject his offer out rightly because it will take you nowhere.

  4. I refuse to listen and fall for whatever the devil has to offer.
