YOUR RESPONSE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Word Encounter and Power Service (Wednesday, 28th January 2026)
Ministering: Pastor Wole Dahunsi
Texts: 1 Peter 4:12; Genesis 21:1;22:1; Romans 8:28
Covenant steps that will help us respond accordingly
1. Keep giving thanks
=> Never stop thanking God even in the face of tests and trials.
=> Sometimes, being thankful in a difficult situation is one of the most difficult things one has to do in life.
=> Nobody has it all. Just be content with what God has given you now, as you trust Him for the remaining ones.
=> 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
2. Never deny your faith by stopping your past good works
=> The devil wants to use the trials to keep you away from God. Don’t allow it!
=> Proverbs 24:10.
=> Never allow anything to take you away from the presence of God.
=> 1 John 3:22.
=> Rather than stop your good works in the face of tests and trials, increase them.
Things to note
1. Nobody is exempt from tests and trials of life. It is part of our journey in life as believers. Nobody has immunity against trials in life; we all must go through them.
2. Your understanding of whatever is happening will determine whether you will come out of it triumphantly or whether it will consume you. For example, if you see tests as punishments.
3. Tests and trials are part of our Christian journey. When you come to this acknowledgement, you won’t be scared when it happens. Instead, you will thank God and look up to Him for the next steps.
4. Tests of life come by divine timing and arrangement. Only God can determine when it will come. And when it comes, you can’t disagree that it came at the wrong time.
5. Tests and trials of life are wrapped opportunities needed for us to grow spiritually.
6. You can be confident that if God permits a trial to come your way, the grace to overcome it is already available. 1 Corinthians 10:13.
7. Genesis 50:20 – Joseph told his brothers that they meant evil for him, but God turned it around to bless him instead.
8. Tests and trials come from different areas of our lives.
Prayers
1. Father, grant me grace to respond to tests and trials appropriately, so as to come out of them triumphantly.
