WHAT IS WRITTEN IS SUPERIOR TO WHAT IS HAPPENING
Word Encounter and Power Service (Wednesday, 25th February 2026)
Ministering: Pastor Wole Dahunsi
Texts: Romans 4:17
Truths we need to accept so that what is written will triumph over what is happening
1. Trials or whatever is happening are parts of God’s work.
=> God is in control of the challenges before you right now.
=> God will never permit anything to come your way if He doesn’t intend to bring a testimony and a glory out of it. Romans 8:28.
=> Psalms 46:10 – Until you are still, you won’t know the power of God.
2. Trials or whatever may be happening put God’s power on display.
=> Judges 7:2.
3. Trials make us depend on God totally.
=> The day God removes His hands from your life, you have no life to live again.
4. Trials show others that God is dependable.
=> When you come out of challenges triumphantly, it is a message that God has seen you through it.
Things to note
1. As children of God, we must grow into the understanding that what is written about our lives is superior to what is happening. Until you grow to this level of understanding and maturity in Christ, what is happening has the capacity to override what is written in your life. Hosea 4:6.
2. You don’t ask God to showcase His powers in your comfort zone. Such prayer is prayed in the midst of storms and strife.
3. Whatever God will do in your life, you are a key factor in it.
4. When God uses people to showcase His power, he uses trying moments and challenging situations.
5. God was able to manifest His power over the lives of Daniel, Joseph, Job, and Paul in the midst of their tribulations.
6. You need to know what is written about your life and what God is saying about your life. If you don’t know it, what is happening may box you into a corner.
7. Every aspect of your life has what is written about it. Your health, finances, job, and others have things written about them in the Bible.
8. You need to discover, understand, and be convinced about all God has written concerning you.
9. What God has written comprises His counsel and promises.
10. Because you haven’t gotten there does not mean what is written won’t come to pass, if you do not lose your faith.
11. Abraham was 75 years old when God made a covenant with him to make him a father of many nations, yet everything that happened around ran contrary, but he held to what God said, and it came to pass. Romans 4:19.
12. When you keep declaring what is written, what is happening negatively will begin to fizzle out.
13. Storms will come, but what is written will abide forever.
14. The absence of a man can’t stop God’s work. God’s counsel and agenda will always flourish irrespective of what men may do against it, because what is written is superior to what is happening.
Prayers
1. Father, whatever may be happening around me today, let it end in testimony.
