IF YOU DON’T STOP FEAR, IT WILL STOP YOU (Tuesday, 7th April 2026)
Text for Today: Joshua 1:1-9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (vs.9).
A fearful man can never get anything good accomplished in life. Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our fears. If you want to live a life of fulfillment in life, you must learn to do the thing you fear to do and keep doing it, because that is the quickest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear. And you need to know that, thinking will not overcome fear, but actions will. If you don’t stop fear, it will stop you and kill your dream. There is no one who is immune against the onslaught of fear, but through the understanding that we have in the word of God and by the help of the Holy Spirit, we can subdue the activities of the spirit of fear around us.
Beloved, if you base your submission or conclusion on what others are saying, you may never get what you desire in life. Men will always have one negative report or the other to give in respect of what you are aiming at in life. From our text for today, God told Joshua and others not to be “dismayed.” To be dismayed is to become completely drained of courage and filled with alarm, anxiety or apprehension. Dismay can escalate to fear, depression, despair, and a dangerous sense of isolation, powerlessness, or hopelessness. Reinforce your sense of faith, courage, and empowerment by speaking God’s Words, especially His promises, aloud to yourself. Memorize key verses and recite them often. Stay in fellowship with those who can encourage you, pray for and with you, and believe in you as you confront your battle. Joshua held on to the charge God gave him and he succeeded in his assignment.
