TRAIN YOUR MIND TO BE TOUGHER THAN YOUR EMOTIONS (Tuesday, 14th April 2026)

Text for Today: Prov. 25:25-28 “A person without self-control is like a city broken down, without walls.” NLT (vs. 28).

Every good virtue a man possesses in life, will always be to his advantage first, even before influencing others positively with it. Self-control is strength, calmness is mastery, and you have to get to a point where your mood doesn’t shift based on the insignificant actions of someone else. Abraham Lincoln said and I quote, “Discipline is choosing between what you want now, and what you want most.” You have to train your mind to be tougher than your emotions. You must never let your emotions overpower your intelligence. Don’t allow others to control the direction of your life contrary to your purpose. Not a few have lost out in their journey to the throne because they lacked self-control.

Any man who is unable to control himself will throw his crown into the ocean unknowingly. For the next few days we shall be discussing the wonders of self-control and also consider some biblical examples and learn some lessons from them. The number one wonder of self-control is that, PEOPLE WITH SELF-CONTROL MASTER THEIR MOODS. They do not let their moods master them. Most of what gets done in the world is accomplished by people who do the right thing even when they don’t feel like it. Until you are willing to make some great sacrifices for your dream, you may watch it die right before your eyes. Our text for today says, “A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.” Beloved, some people will come to you intentionally with the aim of provoking you to misbehave; you must watch it and never allow what a man says or do to destroy your dream.
