HE NEVER GAVE UP DESPITE ALL HE HAD TO GO THROUGH (Friday, 26th June 2026)
Text for Today: Gen. 41:14-43 “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, see, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.” (vs. 41).
Take a moment to think about the successful people in the Bible and those you know around you. Was it their talent or skill alone that catapulted them to success and breakthrough? Were they born with the road of success already paved and cleared for them by family influence or affluence? Most likely the answer is NO. It is more likely that these successful people have gone through difficulties and setbacks just like the rest of us. However, the main reason is that most of them have one common character, and that is DETERMINATION AND RESILENCE. Resilient people are not paralyzed by the obstacles life throws on their way. They tend to look at setbacks and failures as learning opportunities to do better. They focus their energy and time more on things and situations that are within their control.
They are committed to the goals they have set for themselves and the pursuit of their dreams. As with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people. Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I will show you someone who has overcome adversity. This is the best way to describe the life of the young man Joseph, from our text for today. Before Pharaoh made that life changing statement that, “I have set you over all the land of Egypt,” the young man faced diverse difficulties, yet he never gave up over his dream. We must embrace trials and burn it as fuel for our journey in life. Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they are supposed to help you discover who you are.
