YOU CAN’T STOP THE VICTORIUS SIDE FROM CELEBRATING (Saturday, 8th August 2026)
Text for Today: 1 Sam. 18:1-7 “So the women sang as they danced, and said: Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” (vs. 7).
Few years back when 2019 General Elections took place across Nigeria, it was different strokes to different people. Whenever results were announced, supporters of the party that came top will burst into celebration and jubilation, while those of other political parties that lost will be seen all over with gloom faces and anger. Supporters of the winning party are always not compassionate in victory because of the way they celebrate, not minding the state of mind of those who lost. In fact, if anyone counsels them to be magnanimous with their victory, they will tell you that there is nothing like that because the other side did worst things when they won during the last elections.
Beloved, there is nothing anyone can do to stop the winning side from celebrating and jubilating, it flows naturally. Such was the case of all the women who rolled out in their thousands to celebrate the victory of Israel over Philistines when David killed Goliath. The women sang and danced, celebrating David in particular for his exploits at the battle field, not minding how King Saul would feel. Beloved, all that the women did was not to spite anyone including King Saul, but they simply became overjoyed after several days of fear based on the report they got from the battle field when no one could face Goliath despite his threat. Your prayer today and always should be, “Father, cause me to be on the winning side all the time no matter what the devil does.”
