GRUMBLING IS THE VERY OPPOSITE OF GRATITUDE, STAY CLEAR OF IT (Wednesday, 21st January 2026)
Text for Today: Num. 21:1-7 “And the people spoke against God and against Moses: Why have you brought us up out of Egypt” (vs. 5a).
Avoiding the things that displease God is a wise way to live long in life. Spirit of murmuring is a killer, a destroyer and a destiny aborter if not checked. Many promising glory and destiny have been brought down untimely by it, and it’s still hanging around to bring many more down. Whoever has a short memory of happenings in his life will cultivate the habit of murmuring over little shortcomings of people around him. In the same way, if you don’t remember and reflect on past deeds of God in your life, you will always complain over things that may not go the way you had planned in your life.
Acts of grumbling and murmuring is an act that God hates with passion and whoever gives himself to such can never enjoy the hand of God in his life. Grumbling is the very opposite of gratitude while complaint is the opposite of trust. Not a few people have come down from the ladder of life abruptly simply because they refused to show gratitude to God for what He did for them, rather they were full of complaints over what He is yet to do in their lives. Beloved, there is nothing you desire in life that God will not release unto you if you learn the act of reverencing Him all the time and appreciating Him for diverse manifestation of His power. From our text for today, the Israelites came under the wrath of God because they grumbled against Him. They complained against God for rescuing them out of the land of bondage, they were as daft as that. All through the journey of 2026, never stop appreciating God no matter what goes on around you.
