A LAZY MAN CAN NEVER BE A PARTAKER OF EXPLOITS (Sunday, 11th January 2026)
Text for Today: Gen. 26:12-22 “And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over.” (vs. 22a).
A diligent man will always have his way no matter the number of oppositions that confront him, while a lazy man gets stranded in life. Through the teachings and actions of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, He was able to show us that God has no space and provision for a lazy man. All through His three-and-a-half-year ministry, He was diligent in all His ways. I often say to them in our church that, a lazy man can never be comfortable around me, it’s either you flow with me on the lane of diligence or you find your way out. A lazy man will have no good story to tell in life and can never be a partaker of exploits. By divine principle, exploits will only respond to a man who is diligent. A weakling can never and will never taste exploits, for the Bible says, “they that do know their God shall be STRONG…..”
From our text for today, Isaac chose to remain diligent in his place of calling and he stood out despite all forms of opposition that came his way. A lazy man will always be stopped from moving ahead because he himself sees no reason why he has to persevere and attain his goal in destiny. A new year has just started, our year of Turnaround, I charge you to break away from a lifestyle of complacency and laziness into a life full of vigour, passion and perseverance in all that you are going to do. God will always defend the diligent. Though the Philistines were ready to frustrate Isaac out of his dream and business, but he resisted them all the way by making fresh attempt again and again. And God wore out his adversaries.
