The Greater The Obstacle, The More Glory In Overcoming It

Text for Today: 2 Sam. 2:18-23 “So Asahel pursued Abner, and in going he did not turn to the right hand or to the left from following Abner.” (vs. 19).

The most successful people on earth are those who refused to run away from the adversaries, but rather confronted them headlong and bring them into submission. I hope you know that, as it is with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people.

Never make the mistake of appealing to the adversary, that will mark the beginning of your defeat and calamity. I have discovered that whoever begs the enemy never sees the end of the story, because the enemy wastes such a life midway.

In our world of today we have many descendants of Asahel around us where we live, school, work, and trade. These are people who have made up their minds never to retreat until they bring us down.

Such people are descendants of Asahel, and the only way to escape their scourge and onslaught is to release the judgment of God upon them. Never make the mistake of begging a stubborn pursuer.

Those that did that before got struck down while kneeling down begging their stubborn pursuers. Psalms 58:3 says, “The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies”. The more you plead with the enemy the more he perpetuates evil, because he sees your plea as an excuse that he is doing the right thing.

I like you to know that the devil is not a gentleman at all, and the only language he understands is force and fire. Always remember that “the enemy you spare today will be the reason for your downfall and defeat tomorrow. Be wise!

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 1 Sam. 11:1-13.

Covenant Prayers

  • Father, I thank you for protecting me from evil onslaughts.
  • Every evil idea that is bringing my adversaries together, shall fail.
  • All satanic agents mentioning my name before evil altars shall die.
