BE CAREFUL WHO YOU GIVE YOUR EAR TO (Monday, 19th January 2026)
Text for Today: John 8:37-47 “When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of it”. (vs. 44).
As you move ahead in the journey of this new year, be careful of those you listen to from time to time. He who you pay attention to his words will have a great influence over your life. It is therefore an act of wisdom to determine those you listen to and take to their words. When you allow an evil man to have control over your thoughts and your life, you can be rest assured that you also will become like him. Every man on earth wants to have control over some things. Whatever is under your control listens to your voice and receives instruction from you. You practically determine its cause in life and possibly its destination because it is under your control.
Beloved, as a child of God you must know that our NO 1 enemy, the devil wants to control us, and his target is our will. The main way he tries to influence our will is by lying to us. This has been his strategies for ages. This is how it works: He lies, we believe it and we fall for it. When he wanted to control the first man and woman, he lied to Eve in Gen. 3:4 “Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die”, and she fell for it. Adam and Eve got themselves into serious mess when they listened to the devil’s lies. They lost a life of comfort God gave to them before, after God drove them out of the garden. Whoever that believes and acts on the lies of the devil will live to regret it for the rest of his life. There is no two way to escape such a lifestyle than to ignore the lies of the devil. Be wise, so that you don’t fall for his lies.
