DON’T PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR ADVERSARY IS SAYING (Thursday, 18th September 2025)
Text for Today: Neh. 6:1-19 “Also they reported his good deeds before me, and reported my words to him. Tobiah sent letters to frighten me.” (vs. 19).
Never allow anyone to determine who you are contrary to what God says you are. There are people around us that, the only thing they know how to do best is to intimidate us and make us feel incapacitated to the extent that we feel we are useless in life. They will keep creating an impression to you that whatever you are aiming at is beyond your reach, while they are excelling in it already. From our text for today, when Nehemiah and the rest of the Jews made up their mind to take up the responsibility of rebuilding the broken wall of Jerusalem, it was not at all easy for them because there were some people who were not happy with their decision and they were ready to frustrate their plan and make sure that their dream did not see the light of the day.
The day you begin to listen to what your adversary is saying, is the day you become weak and will not feel like moving ahead in life again. Chief among those who rose up against Nehemiah and the Jews then, were both Sanballat and Tobiah. There was nothing they did not do to stop the good work, but when they saw that Nehemiah and Jews were unstoppable they resulted to intimidation. Intimidation is an evil spirit sent by the devil and his agent to alarm you, terrify you and push you around. It is also the art of deterring someone from doing anything meaningful with his life all through his lifetime. Satan want to deter you from new ideas, new visions, from conquering new territory. Satan’s strategy is to confine you to the limits he has define for you, but you must break out of it.
