EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO FEAR IS ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY TO TRUST GOD (Saturday, 5th September 2026)

Text for Today: Ps. 56:1-13 “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you.” (vs. 3).

There is no challenge that confronts us here on earth that God has not made a covenant provision for us to triumph over it readily available to us. The second covenant key to overcoming fear is, ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD. I once read a bumper sticker and it goes like this: “Every opportunity to fear is also an opportunity to trust God.” Just to make sure that sticks to your mind, let me repeat it once again. “Every opportunity to fear is also an opportunity to trust God.” I strongly believe that this is something that we all should remember. Every time we are afraid, we must see it as an opportunity to surrender everything in God’s hands. We simply trust Him that all things will work out together for good as long as we are doing our part (Romans 8:28).

Our text for today is very clear, Ps. 56:3-4 says, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You…In God I have put my trust; I WILL NOT FEAR. What can flesh do to me? In most cases, when we are afraid, we are powerless. We really can’t do anything about most things we fear. You can’t control outbreak of diseases in a dirty environment. You can’t prevent natural disasters from happening in your city. You can’t prevent armed robbers from perpetuating their evil, but nothing can ever happen to you without His consent as a covenant child.  So, why should we fear? Instead, just surrender your fear to God and trust Him that He will do what is best for you. After all, God is our heavenly Father. Like a father who protects his children, so is God who will protect us from evil.
