HE WAS NOT BOTHERED BY THEIR NEGATIVE COMMENTS (Sunday, 10th May 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Kings 2:1-13 “Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, do you know that the Lord will take away your master”. (vs.3)
The day you begin to pay attention to negative comments about your dream, is the day you will lose steam for the task. The doors of possibilities will be opened to those who are bold enough to knock. You must be bold enough to use your voice, brave enough to listen to your heart, and strong enough to live the life you’ve always imagined. When you are bold, you are not bothered by what people say around you contrary to your dream. Anyone who pays attention to and allows what people say or think of him to demoralize him will never get to his throne in life. Before you were born there had been people’s opinion, and when you will be no more men’s opinion will still remain.
I hope you know that during the lifetime of Jesus Christ, people also had their negative opinion about Him, but He never allowed that to stop His vision. Regardless of what everyone else thinks of you, if you’ve followed your intuition and do your best, win or lose, you won’t regret a thing. Let today’s message inspire you to realize that good fortune favours the bold. If you are the type that gives attention to what everyone says about you, you will lose your focus and balance in life. From our text for today, even though Elisha knew that his master, Elijah was to be taken away from him that day, he refused to listen to the opinions of the sons of the prophets who came out to mock him. He was bold, he pressed on and he remained focused. If he had not been bold, they wouldn’t have bowed down to him on his way back. Those who laugh at you today will bow down later.
