THOSE WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN MEN WILL ALWAYS FAIL (Monday, 31st August 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Chron. 16:1-10 “…because you have relied on the king of Syria and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hands.”(vs. 7).
Never make the mistake of given the place God should occupy in your life to a man, it won’t end well at all. Beloved, the plain truth is that, whatever God has done before for His covenant children; He can do it over and over again for the sake of His name. It’s an insult for anyone to think whatever God did before cannot be done over and over again, and thereby going ahead to put one’s trust in mortal being. Whoever does that will return in failure and disappointment, because God will never share His glory with any man. This was exactly what happened in the case of King Asa.
When he was installed as a king in 2 Chron. 14:9-13, more than two nations rose up against him in war, they have thousands upon thousands of horses and chariots, but King Asa cried out to the Lord for help, believing that, God will always win whether with few or multitude; 2 Chron. 14:11. And he went out to the war and defeated them all; their large number became inconsequential, just because he relied on God. But later on, in his kingdom, when he was firmly established, just one nation rose up against him and he began to run from pillar to post, he had forgotten what God did for him before, he entered into a treaty of protection and safety from a mere mortal man who is also helpless. He chose to put his confidence in man, and he failed woefully. God was angry and He proclaimed that he will always have war to fight and God withdrew His peace from him. I admonish you to keep on trusting God and Him alone always.
