THEY GOT PUNISHED BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T ACCEPT THEIR MISTAKES (Thursday, 30th April 2026)
Text for Today: Gen. 3:1-13 “Then the man said, “The woman you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” (vs.5).
Mercy cannot be far from those who own up in respect of their errors. You are not a failure until you start blaming others for your mistakes. When you blame others for what is not going well in your life, you are simply avoiding some truth about yourself. You can spend your entire life blaming others because it is easy to do so, but your successes and failures are entirely your own responsibility. When you blame others, you give your power away. However, when you take responsibility, you take back your power to transform your life. And mind you, the day you stop blaming others is the day you begin to discover who you truly are. Everything you do in life is based on the choices you make. It’s not your parents, your past relationship, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to be blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period. When you think everything is someone else’s fault, you will suffer a lot. But when you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy. Never blame another person for your personal choices; you are still the one who must live out the consequences of your choices. From our text for today, after God queried Adam why he ate the forbidden fruit, he transferred the blame to God and his wife. When the woman was also queried, she blamed the serpent for her disobedience. What a disaster! No wonder they were severely punished for it. Maybe if they had owned up and asked for mercy, the punishment might not be up to that.
You are a Champion!
