GOD IS A GOD OF SUPERNATURAL RE-ARRANGEMENT AND SUBSTITUTION (Friday, 22nd May 2026)
Text for Today: Acts 13:16-23 “And when he had removed him, he raised up for them David as king; to whom also he gave testimony and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, who will do all My will.”
No matter how high or how far you go in life, you must never forget where God brought you out from so that you don’t become full of yourself and become proud. God is never taken by surprise over any issue; in fact, He foresees whatever will happen in the future and re-arranges things ahead in order to fix it. He engages in the principle of substitute as a way of addressing prevailing problems and challenges. That is why I charge you as a believer; never you get to a point in your journey in life and think you can do whatever you like outside God’s arrangement.
After Saul’s coronation as king, he became proud and disobedient to God’s instructions and began to suffer from a mental illness (according to some translation of the Bible) to the point that God rejected him as king – I Sam 16:1. This rejection of Saul necessitated a divine re-arrangement of a whole lineage of destinies. Saul was removed as king, and David was anointed as king – verse 22. God is a God of supernatural re-arrangement and substitution. Whatever circumstance you find yourself in life today that you never bargained for, God is sending help your way today. God will usually go to any length to fulfill His counsel for the sake of His people. Fore-seeing the devil’s plan to annihilate the Jews in the future, He sanctioned queen Vashti’s misdemeanor that precipitated her eventual replacement with a Jewish queen, Esther. This was the queen He would later use to deliver His people from destruction. What an awesome God we serve.
