CHOOSE YOUR COMPANY WISELY! (Thursday, 21st May 2026)

Text for Today: Gen. 13:5-13 “Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.” (vs. 11).

Those you surround yourself with speaks a lot about who you are. Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in a bad company.  As you make progress in the journey of life, you must surround yourself with people that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel, because attitude is very contagious. Always surround yourself with positive souls and good vibes will just come naturally. Remember that your surroundings will influence your experience, so make it a positive one. Draw a circle around yourself, invite people in or keep them out.

We are the creators of our social geometry, calculate your volume.  Like I often say to people in our church that, you have the sole right to determine those you allow to stay in your life or those you shut out. Why, it is your life and not theirs. Beloved, those you allow to stay in your life will influence what happens around you. The sad truth is that there are some people who will only be there for you as long as you have something they need.  When you no longer serve a purpose to them, they will leave.  From our text for today, it became very clear that the staying together of Abraham and Lot had long expired due to irreconcilable differences especially between their herdsmen. However, when it was time for Abraham to move to the next phase of his life, God told him to separate himself from Lot. There was no way he was going to fulfill his purpose hanging around Lot and his servants.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Gen. 39:1-20.
