HE REMAINED CONNECTED TO THE SOURCE OF HIS TURNAROUND (Thursday, 23rd July 2026)
Text for Today: Acts 3:11-26 “Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed.” (vs. 11a).
Whoever disconnects himself from a true source will always lose value with time. There is a saying among my people in the South Western part of Nigeria that, “Whoever a mad man has ever beaten before, if he sees a typical local Nigerian mechanic on the street coming towards his direction, he will be a bit scared and be extra vigilant.” Whatever a man has suffered before, he would never want to go through it again, no matter what it will cost him. Such was the case of the lame man that was healed supernaturally by God through the ministration of Peter and John at the gate of the temple, called “The Beautiful Gate,” when he chose to stay around the disciples wherever they went.
While he was lame, he must have gone through several pains, mockery, and humiliation because of his situation; thus, he held on to them because he never wanted the affliction to come back. Since he must have concluded that Peter and John carried the anointing to deal with it anytime, any day. All the same, his following them was further proof during the preaching of Peter at Solomon’s Portico. Acts 3:16 says, “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. The people Peter preached to didn’t have to travel far before they could see the lame man he referred to, since he was right there holding on to them. I decree today that the Lord shall give you proofs to celebrate everywhere you go, in Jesus’ name.
