HIS PRESENCE AT THE WEDDING MADE THE DIFFERENCE (Wednesday, 20th May 2026)

Text for Today: John 2:1-10 “And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, they have no wine.” (vs.3).

When there’s favour on your life, God will always place people on your path to help you along the way. The man who is by your side and gives counsel to you, in the days of trouble will largely determine the end result of the whole thing. In the journey of life, there are junctions we get to that, all what we will be left with are the people around us. In such a situation, if those you surround yourself with have nothing to offer, then; one is doomed. That is why, deliberate effort must be made to surround ourselves with people who are going in the same direction with us and have the capacity to see ahead with us in respect of our dreams and goals.

From our text for today, while the planning for the wedding was on like many of us would do, a list of invited guests was drawn up and it was a lifetime decision they made to have included the name of Jesus on the list. If they had not done that, the wedding could have ended with complaints and grumbling. Mary, Jesus’ mother was also at the wedding, which was the divine set up that saved the day for the celebrants and all family members. When the wine got finished at the wedding, Mary, simply gave an instruction to them to go and meet Jesus, adding that “Whatsoever he asked you to do, please do.” Mary invariably asked Jesus to help them find a solution to the problem at hand so that the wedding will not end with complaints. There’s no such thing as a coincidence and there are no accidents in God’s creation, Jesus was at the wedding for a purpose that day.

You are a Champion!
