IT IS FUTILE TO PUT YOUR TRUST IN MAN (Sunday, 28th June 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Chronicle 16:1-10 “..because you have relied on the king of Syria and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hands.”(vs. 7).
You must be careful not to allow a man take the place of God in your life. I’ve learned that trust isn’t something that you put in people; it is something that you put in God. While people will fail you time and time again, God never will. Put your trust in no man, that way you will never feel disappointed by anyone. If you put your trust in a man, that means he is the one that will sustain, uphold and bless you, and no man has the power to do that. The Scripture is clear when it says trust God with all your heart. When you start trusting man that leads to danger because, man can’t save you, only Jesus can.
When you put your trust in humans, you will be let down because humans are not perfect. Even good friends can let you down sometimes and in the same way we can disappoint others as well. From our text for today, this was exactly what happened in the case of King Asa. When he became king in 2 Chronicles 14:9-13, more than two nations rose up against him to fight him, they have thousands of horses and chariots, but King Asa cried out to the Lord for help. And he went out to the war and defeated them all; their large number became irrelevant, just because he relied on God. But later on in his kingdom, when he was firmly established, just one nation rose up against him and he chose to put his confidence in man, the connection and power of man has, rather than trusting God with his life. God was angry and He proclaimed that he will always have wars to fight. Be wise!
You are a Champion!
