We Would Worry Less If We Praised More
Text for Today: Dan. 4:28-37 “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honour of my majesty.” (vs. 30).
Worship isn’t an event to attend and watch; it is a lifestyle to be lived. When you enter God’s presence with praise, He enters your circumstances with power.
However, whatever virtue that will bring great value and blessings to your life has several things that could hinder its practice if one is not careful. Praise is a great virtue every covenant child must not joke with.
However, there are some things that have been identified over a period of time as hindrances to cultivating a lifestyle of praise. I charge you to hate these things with passion and avoid them out rightly.
The first one is Pride – Proud people do not see the need to praise God. A proud man sees his self-sufficient in all things without the involvement of any man even God but in flesh. Prov. 28:25 says, “He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, But he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered.”
James 4:6 – “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” The second one is Murmuring – someone who is full of complain about why certain things are not showing up in his life.
Murmuring murders miracles.1 Cor. 10:10 – Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. The inability to enter into praise and worship is a sign that there is a substantial problem between God and us.
The same barriers that prevent us from praising God, may slow down our relationship with Him, hinder answers to prayers or prevent us from being healed.
