THERE IS NO GREATER SACRIFICE THAN THE ONE HE MADE (Friday, 3rd April 2026)
Text for Today: Mark 15:16-32 “And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.” (vs. 24).
There is no greater sacrifice anyone else can make for a fellow human that can be compared to the one Jesus made for us, the reason why we all have peace and joy today. Jesus Christ lived in the midst of His enemies and at the end all His disciples deserted Him because they were afraid for their lives, including Peter who vowed never to allow anyone lay hands on Him. On the cross He was utterly alone, surrounded by evil doers and mockers. For this cause He had come, to bring peace to the enemies of God and His word.
Mark 10:45 says, “For the Son of Man himself did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Despite the pains and torture, He went through, He was fully conscious of the reason why He came, and that’s why He said in Luke 23:34 that, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” How can someone ask God to forgive those who did evil against Him, it’s because of you and I. If He had not done so, we won’t have access to the gospel today, neither will we have the peace and joy of a sweet relationship with God. My question to you this morning, as we once again remember the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross is that, “Is the sacrifices He made not gone down the drain over you?” Will Jesus be happy with you based the kind of life you are living today, bearing in mind His death on the cross for your sake? Make amends where necessary before this great day is over. HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!
